Through the newly designed Internship Program, potential interns will have the opportunity to work closely with program leadership, administrative staff, and direct service providers to enhance their skills and knowledge in their chosen career field.
Internship Opportunities
Internship Summary
Interns will have opportunities to support adult learners in the Adult Education and Training program as well as support program development and implementation. Support and service for adult learners includes, but is not limited to: working with students to reduce barriers to attendance and includes program completion; identify and develop transition goals to career, college/training, or workforce development opportunities. Interns will become familiar with community support services that may
be of benefit to student barrier support as well as opportunities for students to pursue training and workforce opportunities.
Prospective interns will have opportunities to work with the program coordinator to develop and maintain community awareness of YWCA’s adult education services. Interns will work with the program director to evaluate program effectiveness and learn how grant requirements impact program development practices and outcomes. Opportunities are available for candidates interested in serving as short-term, one-to-one tutor and Classroom Assistant as needed.
Responsibilities
-Reports to Case Managers and Program Coordinators while maintaining periodic communication with program director.
-Assist potential clients with program information, orientation/intake, registration and inventories
-Develop forms, spreadsheets and documents to support program efficiency.
-Assist in the development/facilitation of tutor training programs and assist in preparing tutor training events
-Provide Work Force Development, labor market workshops and/or post-secondary career readiness resources to students in actualizing initial and on-going career goals.
-Perform data collection and assist in data analysis.
-Where appropriate, assist in revising the ETC’s program manual and guidelines
-When needed, work with program director and marketing team in developing marketing material, videos and social media message related to the program
-Participate in monthly staff meetings.

Internship Summary
Provide support to YWCA Tri-County Area’s development and marketing office. This unpaid internship opportunity will support efficiencies within the organization and provide real-life experience in communications, marketing, public relations, social services, and non-profit management. Intern will support task management processes, data management systems, and engagement activities.
Qualifications
Candidates will be passionate about the agency’s mission, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be technologically savvy, have experience with Microsoft Office. Candidates will have a strong attention to detail, be a good listener, have comfort with interacting with a diverse
group of people both inside and outside the organization, be enthusiastic, have a can-do-attitude, and work well independently.
Approximate expected time commitment will vary between 5-15 hours weekly. A flexible schedule can be identified that will align with the selected candidate’s availability to address daily and/or weekly responsibilities described below. The required weekly hours may be performed on-site at YWCA Tri-County Area’s administrative building in Pottstown, virtually, or as a hybrid of in-person and virtual. Regular access to a phone and a computer with internet access is required.
Responsibilities
-Support YWCA Tri-County Area’s development and marketing office staff as needed.
-Assist in publishing monthly eNewsletter
-Help with marketing launch of new programs
-Attend program events as needed for marketing support (e.g., taking pictures, social media)
-Assist with implementation of social media strategy (posts, blogs, videos, etc.)
-Design social media graphics
-Post event information on community contact and calendar locations and compose press releases to include in local media
-Support creation of PowerPoint presentations for various programs, as well as about the
organization as a whole.
-Support fundraising database management (e.g., e-Tapestry, Luminate, Fluxx)
