Volunteer Opportunities

YWCA Tri County Area is seeking volunteers to become active participants in the community’s success.  Volunteers are highly valued members of YWCA Tri-County Area and contribute significantly toward realizing our mission to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Adult Education Center

  • Help adult learners realize their education goals
  • Work one on one or in small groups to help students with reading or
    math skills
  • Support English as a Second Language learners through instruction in
    speaking reading, and writing in English
  • Support immigrant students in pursuing U.S. Citizenship
  • Help job seekers with resume writing, and completing job applications
  • Adult education volunteers are mature, positive and flexible, enjoy working with people, and have an enthusiasm for education. Volunteers must have a four-year degree, be enrolled in a four-year degree program, or enrolled in a community college transfer program that will lead to a four-year degree.

Early Education Center

  • Assist teachers in the classrooms by interacting with children ages 6
    months to pre-kindergarten
  • Work with children K-6 in after-school programming
  • Assist teachers and staff with administrative tasks
  • Volunteers must gain required clearances
